China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs and the National Commission for Disaster Reduction have allocated relief goods to the tornado-hit areas. Aid supplies include 1,000 tents, 2,000 camp beds and lighting equipment. A State Council working group has arrived in Yancheng city, in east China’s Jiangsu Province.

Tropical Depression Bonnie was located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east-southeast of Cape Hatteras in North Carolina, the Miami-based weather forecaster said. Winds fueled by the storm system were gusting around 30 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour).
